About Facebook

Sheryl Sandberg slashes Facebook holdings - FT.com http://on.ft.com/1hWZsRs vía @FT
Basically, the FT is telling us that Ms Sandberg is selling her Facebook stock to pay taxes, or just in case she leaves the company for better winds.

Which obviously drives this Tiny Probe to the obvious conclusions that 1) Facebook keeps to be overvalued and 2) They have no fucking idea of what their future business model will be like (and hence the revenues that should support the future value of the business).

Mark keeps on dreaming about virtual reality and consulting your doc with some augmented reality glasses on, and about launching satellites and drones to give internet to the poorer. He is trully a visionary. Ms. Sandberg who is the one running the business, instead is thinking WTF lets sell before someone finds out that our strategy is faaaaaaar away from our daily business. Like most of the companies out there, to be honest. But in the case of Facebook this is even more dangerous, as we are talking about a company that's all about trendiness, migration to mobile and with problems to engage with younger generations that dont want dad and mom to be their virtual friends at all.

Which leads me to some further conclusions.
Will Facebook be the social network of the future? Definitely not, at least as we know it today. It has too many hurdles to overcome, and Mark's plans are way far over the clouds while the company sooner or later will struggle to keep up with revenue growth. Competition is fierce. New social networks will emerge. Or in my visionary tiny view, they will not even be social networks any longer. They will just be new ways to relate to your family and friends, through mobile and ubiquous, of course.  Maybe Apple has better chances integrating a circle of family and friends to exchange chats, pics, etc. They are already doing so, and they dont call it a social network any more.

I see the future. Sell your Facebook stock. Before its too late. And buy yourself a place to invite your friends and family for dinner and enjoy face to face interactions. Eventually, they will become the new trend around.
Bye

Bird pooh at the airport

There is bird pooh inside this airport, which means:
- there is a gap through which birds get in. Someone might use it to illegally enter this country or for more evil purposes. Mmmuuuaahahahahaha!
- cleanliness standards are clearly underrated
- airport service staff salaries are low and there is no motivation to excel
- birds seem to suffer acute diarrhea, probably due to an excess of pesticides on local fruit and crops.

Solution: relocate airport service staff to crop dusting. Relocate crop dusting staff to airport services. And sell it to both as a big promotion.

I see. I observe. And I judge.

Malaysia Flight MH370- Where the hell is that plane!

What happened to Flight MH370 and why do we care?
Everyone is wondering what happened to this flight that evaporated from radars. Theories range from highjacking, fire on board, aliens and so on.
So far, the most convincing theory from my tiny point of view is related to this one:
Mr. Goodfellow defends that there was an event on board, the pilot set destination to an emergency landing in a nearby airport, and he didnt make it.

I believe he is mostly right because:
- If it had been a terrorist action, even if a failed one, someone might have claimed it just for marketing purpouses warning of future events.
- UFOs have not been proved to exist so far.
- One pilot might have gone crazy, but not the copilot at the same time.

So this is my guess of how events developed:

There was an incident on board. It caused communication systems to fail whatever it was (a fire most probably). Or pilots switched circuits off trying to get rid of fire. But this still ticks my mind... Why didnt they just send an SOS signal?
Anyway, pilots had the time to head for an emergency landing nearby as Mr Goodfellow suggests.
At a point, they realized they were not going to make it. Probably, a sudden depresurization of the cabin made them think so? The plane wreacking havoc?
They corrected the flight path in the last second towards a non-populated area, knowing that they could not escape a crash landing, and trying to avoid further damage. Thats why they ended up in the middle of the Indian Ocean in a southern route to nowhere but death and the south pole.
Probably all passengers and tripulation died or froze  due to depresurization. Or not. Someone might have realized in the nav maps that all business class seats have that the plane was headed opposite to Beijing. And sooner or later they tried to enter the pilot cabin to see what the hell was going on, but now you cannot enter that cabin so easily, after the Sept11 Al Qaeda events,  uh? Or as I said, they just died due to depresurization, but the plane kept on going south for several hours after it crashed.

So, the pilots did the right thing, they were heroes. And the passengers freaked out when they realized they were heading south, or they just did not freak out because they died in a few minutes due to depresurization.  Probably we will never know the details. The idea of a ghost plane is too bad even for a horror movie.

The underlying idea here is not where the plane is. The thing is...black box technology and satellite tracking seems to be VERY obsolete for today's aviation needs!! In an everything-connected world, where the internet of things is in everyone's mouth, planes should not rely on onboard blackboxes that sink 3000 meters in the mid of the ocean and become a bit difficult to recover.  Planes should be continuously trasmitting all crytical information and storing it in the cloud, from pilot radio comms to all systems info and geolocation. Not in the clouds up there, but in the cloud!

So, this lesson should trigger an enhancement on safety and tracking systems onboard. And then the passengers will pay a little bit extra for their tickets. Probably the NSA could outsource some of its technology for this purpouse and redeem its image now!

Bye Bye.

Sprautumn is coming

Spring is coming and the northern World celebrates.
But on the southern emisphere over here, Autumn is coming.
Its like weird that the northern people think it should be Spring in the whole planet.

We, southern, couldnt care less.

I am Tiny Probe

I am the Tiny Probe. I see the World.  Most probably, from a different perspective than yours.
I will show you.
Enjoy.
